NFI glossary and dictionary

On this page you find the translations of woody species and of terms as well as their explanations (marked with yellow background), which were used in the NFI.

stage of stand development
Classification of stands according to the mean or dominant tree size (diameter or height). In the NFI the stages are differentiated according to their dominant diameter at breast hight (Ddom): young growth/ thicket (< 12 cm), pole wood (12-30 cm), young (31-40 cm DBH), medium (41-50 cm DBH) and old timber (>50 cm DBH) .

[D] Entwicklungsstufe
