NFI glossary and dictionary

On this page you find the translations of woody species and of terms as well as their explanations (marked with yellow background), which were used in the NFI.

tree species
Plant species with a ligneous, upright stem, which grows to a height of at least 5 m if undisturbed (according to WT and LdF). In the NFI only tree species that are listed in the NFI Field Manual are differentiated. Some of them are grouped into the 10 most important tree species (main tree species).

[D] Baumart

[I] specie arborea
IFN (p. 78/79). Queste vengono in parte riunite nelle 10 specie arboree più importanti (specie arboree principali).
