German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.

• Forest Police Law (FPolL)

  Federal law of 11 October, 1902, about the Confederate's supervision of the forest police, including the executive regulation (Regulation, of 1 October, 1965, of federal supervision of the forest police). The FPolL has been replaced by the new Federal Law on Forests of 1 January, 1993.
• [de] Forstpolizeigesetz (FPolG)
  Bundesgesetz betreffend die eidgenössische Oberaufsicht über die Forstpolizei vom 11. Oktober 1902. Dazu gehört die Vollziehungsverordnung (Verordnung betreffend die eidgenössische Oberaufsicht über die Forstpolizei vom 1. Oktober 1965). Das FPolG wurde am 01.01.1993 durch das neue Waldgesetz (WaG) abgelöst.
• [fr] Loi sur la police des forêts (LPolF)
  Loi fédérale concernant la haute surveillance de la Confédération sur la police des forêts du 11 octobre 1902. Ancienne loi forestière fédérale, complétée par une ordonnance d'exécution (Ordonnance concernant la haute surveillance de la Confédération sur la police des forêts du 1er octobre 1965). La LPolF a été remplacée le 1er janvier 1993 par la nouvelle Loi sur les forêts (LFo).
• [it] legge federale di alta sorveglianza sulla polizia delle foreste (LAVPF)
  Legge federale dell'11 ottobre 1902 concernente l'Alta vigilanza della Confederazione sulla polizia delle foreste. Parte integrante della LAVPF è l'Ordinanza di applicazione (Ordinanza di applicazione della legge di Alta Vigilanza sulla Polizia delle Foreste del 1 ottobre 1965). La LAVPF è stata sostituita dalla nuova Legge Federale sulle Foreste (LFo) il 1.1.1993.

• The German, French and Italien plant names were taken mainly from the book Die häufigsten Waldbäume der Schweiz or from the Flora Helvetica
• The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
