German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.

  • stand, relevant to regeneration

    Stand in which the present regeneration is silviculturally very significant, i.e. it will most likely be the main stand in the future.The relevant NFI evaluation units are: "young growth/ thicket", "regeneration under shelter" and "selection-type high forest".
  • [de] Bestand, verjüngungsrelevanter
    Bestände, in denen die vorhandene Verjüngung waldbaulich eine grosse Bedeutung hat, d.h. höchstwahrscheinlich den zukünftigen Hauptbestand darstellt. Darunter werden im LFI die Auswertungseinheiten "Jungwuchs/Dickung", "Verjüngung unter Schirm" und "plenterartiger Hochwald" verstanden.
  • [fr] peuplement en cours de régénération
    Peuplements, dans lesquels le rajeunissement existant revêt une grande signification sylvicole, c.-à-d. constitue très vraisemblablement le futur peuplement principal. Dans l'IFN, cela correspond aux ensembles analysés "recrû/fourré", "régénération sous abri" et "futaie d'aspect jardiné".
  • [it] popolamento con rinnovazione significativa
    Popolamenti in cui la rinnovazione presente ha una grossa importanza dal punto di vista selvicolturale e che quindi ha elevate probabilità di rappresentare il futuro popolamento principale. Fra questi, nell'IFN vengono intesi le unità di analisi: novelleti/spessine, rinnovazione sotto copertura e fustaie a struttura disetanea.

  • The German, French and Italien plant names were taken mainly from the book Die häufigsten Waldbäume der Schweiz or from the Flora Helvetica
  • The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
