The latter corresponds to the mean damage percentage of the forest area stocked with young forest plants from 130 cm in length up to 11.9 cm DBH. An independent mean damage percentage is calculated for each listed damage type, as young forest plants can have several types of damage simultaneously. Depending on the inventory, either only trees (NFI3, NFI5) or trees and selected shrub species (NFI4) were recorded as young trees.

Forest area classified according to its functions (including "no special forest function"), as determined in the interview survey with the local forest services. A forest area can fulfil several forest functions at the same time, and can thus contribute to the forest area of several forest functions.

Forest area subject to the natural hazard processes rockfall, avalanche, hillslope debris flow/landslide and channel processes within the protection forest designated by the cantons according to the harmonised criteria of SilvaProtect-CH as of 2022. Since a protection forest can provide protection against various natural hazard processes at the same time, it can contribute to the forest area of several dfiferent processes. The ratio is determined on the basis of those damage gaps that account for at least 10% of the interpretation area (50 × 50 m) and on which, according to the information provided by the local forest services, only one damage event occurred. The target value thus allows comparisons of inventories from NFI3 onwards.

Die gewichtete ZG-Nr. 345 berücksichtigt die vorhandenen Strassen-/Streckenabschnitte, die im Schutzwaldperimeter und gleichzeitig innerhalb des Waldes der LFI-Waldmaske liegen. Der Schutzwaldperimeter wurde vom BAFU als GIS-Datei zur Verfügung gestellt (Stand 2013). Die Strassen-/Streckenabschnitte werden nur teilweise mit ihrer jeweils erfassten vollen Länge berücksichtigt, sondern sind gewichtet. Je nach Lage können Strassen-/Streckenabschnitte z.B. im freien Feld weggelassen, oder nur zu 50% ihrer Länge berücksichtigt werden. Die verwendete flächendeckende Walddefinition orientiert sich an der Waldmaske auf der Basis des Vegetationshöhenmodells und ist nicht identisch mit den Waldkriterien und Punktentscheiden des LFI und/oder mit den Waldkriterien des Schutzwaldes. Zu den LFI4-Waldstrassen im Schutzwald zählen nur die zum Zeitpunkt der LFI4-Erhebung explizit verfügbaren Strassen-/Streckenabschnitte. Die in der LFA.WASTRA-Tabellenbeschreibung genannten Bedingungen müssen bei der Verwendung der ZG eingehalten werden.
