On this page you find the translations of woody species and of terms as well as their explanations (marked with yellow background), which were used in the NFI.

lowlands

Used in the NFI for the colline, submontane and lower montane zone (cf. altitudinal vegetation zone, high altitude areas). [D] Tieflagen Im LFI versteht man darunter die kolline, submontane und untere montane Stufe (siehe Vegetationshöhenstufe, Hochlagen). [F] zones inférieures Dans l'IFN, ce terme regroupe les étage collinéen, submontagnard et montagnard inférieur (voir étages de végétation, zones supérieures). [I] stazioni di bassa quota Nell'IFN si intendono i piani collinare, submontano e montano inferiore (vedi piano vegetazionale, stazioni d'alta quota).

• The German, French and Italien plant names were taken mainly from the book Die häufigsten Waldbäume der Schweiz or from the Flora Helvetica
• The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
